2014 LESSONS LEARNED

As I reflect back on 2014, I have learned…

That loss is inevitable and it is love that heals not time.

When you silence your mind you no longer have an enemy but a friend.

We need to stop texting so much and pick up the phone again!

To hear another’s voice is better than trying to interpret a text!

A true soulmate holds up a mirror, not for me to see my face, but, to show me what I have kept hidden behind my face; things and behaviors that need to be seen so my light reflects out, not my past pains.

If God is not part of the picture, then no frame can hold a relationship or business together.

If I left a relationship, what stays is the reason I needed that relationship.

Even if a marriage or relationship ends, what never ends is the love shared and the hope of forever, which first brought us together.

There is no such thing as separation, just the thought of it.

Hate is not the opposite of love, fear is.

Gossip is like putting a knife in your own heart.

Our visit here is short, so live your life, not somebody else’s.

Every person has a calling in their life, if you don’t remember, call out to your inner child; what you wanted to do as a kid has a lot to do with why you are here.

I have learned that if I don’t finish a project that was placed on my heart, then what really doesn’t get finished is God’s work.

When I stop wanting, I start receiving.

In everything, bad or good, is a gift.

What we speak into the world, becomes our world;  replace, “I’m getting older” with, “I’m getting wiser.”

What feels like rejection is really God’s way of shouting, “Wrong direction!”

When those rare feelings of wanting to be with someone are not reciprocated, for one reason or another, I’ve come to trust the connection was made for a much greater reason than me getting what I wanted and more about what both of our souls needed.

Time really is an illusion, the only thing that counts on time is my alarm clock!

Every penny found is placed on my path for a reason, to either remind me to “Trust God” or on the flip side, E Pluribus Unum, meaning, “Out of many, one.” So, pick up every penny!

My favorite quote this year has been, When you talk to God it’s called prayer; when God talks to you it’s called schizophrenia. So, I am thinking, the crazier I am, the closer I am to God?!

In 2015, I plan to be more open to receiving, more available to say, “yes” to life and more willing to simply be…me.

I will carry gratitude around as if it were my baby blanket.

In gratitude to all of you, for without you there would not be these words nor friendships.

To an inspiring 2015.

Peace, love and light,

Karen
